Our preferred part 135 operator owns and operates Learjet that are medically equipped and designed for patient comfort, hygiene and safety on the healthcare journey.

About 33 million tourists from other countries and other states visit Maine annually. Travelers visiting Maine are sometimes unable to fly home on a commercial airline and require a medical transport via air ambulance (Jet ICU) for rehabilitation, transplant, treatment, or sometimes hospice after a critical illness or injury while traveling.

Maine is home to almost 44.5 million senior citizens over the age of 65. The senior population which is one of the largest in the nation is continually growing, as the oldest of the Baby Boomer generation are breaking into their early seventies.

Unfortunately, seniors frequently require a medical transport (or Jet ICU) to reach the right level of care covered by their insurance close by family members following an accident or injury. Angel MedFlight’s award winning air ambulance medical flight members are experienced in supporting medical transports and providing care to all critical care patients, including senior patients.

Angel MedFlight’s team knows we are meeting our patients and their family members on the most stressful days of their lives, and we understand every moment counts when it comes to reaching the care you need when you need it most. That’s why our flight coordinators are here for you 24 hours a day – so your patient can reach the right care when they need it. Angel MedFlight partners with our preferred part 135 operator, to fly patients on medically configured Learjet that promote hygiene, comfort and most of all, safety. A flight captain and an assisting pilot safely transport patients on every one of our healthcare missions, while Angel MedFlight’s certified flight nurse (RN) and flight paramedic (EMP-T) provide complete care and support throughout the full medical transport.

What makes Angel MedFlight different from other air ambulance service providers?

Angel MedFlight team members know that when it comes to getting your patient to the next level of care, you want them to have the best possible treatment and transport. That’s why our clinicians strive for the industry’s highest training and certification standards. One of our certified nurses (RN) and one of our paramedics (EMP-T) are on board every medical flight to provide the best air medical care available in the industry.

All of our clinicians receive regular exams and training on air medical procedures and patient care. Most of our medical flight team members have more than a decade of critical care experience and have earned additional specialty certifications, including CCRN, CEN, CCP-C, CCEMTP. They are also aware of the air medical industry overall and how to collaborate with Angel Flight and other healthcare and aviation organizations, so every patient can reach the right care when they need it.

Every Angel MedFlight medical flight team member maintains board certification in the flight specialty, (FP-C and CFRN) to provide the highest quality of care to our patients in a controlled environment.

Our air ambulance clinicians frequently transport critical care patients to and from Maine for transplant, treatment, specialty care, rehabilitation, and hospice when necessary. If you, a patient, or loved one is having a medical crisis in Maine and needs a medical flight (or Jet ICU) to reach a healthcare facility there, our team members are here to make the healthcare journey as safe and smooth as possible.
