Medical Staff

Our jets are impressive, but without a skilled medical staff, we’re just an expensive taxi ride.
Our passengers are ill or injured patients and their families; excellence in medical care is paramount for Angel Medflight. Our medical staff is overseen by a gifted and experienced Medical Director, Dr. John Shufeldt. The medical standards we adhere to are two-fold – internal criteria dictated by Angel Medflight and those set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.

Critical Care Flight Nurses (CEN, CFRN)
Critical Care Flight Paramedics (CCEMTP, FPC)
Board Certified Emergency Room Physicians
Board Certified Emergency Room Physicians Assistants
Board Certified Critical Care Nurse Practitioners
Perfusionists
Medical Director

Medical Staff Requirements

Licensed and board certified
Minimum of 2 medical staff, one of whom is either a Physician or Critical Care Flight Nurse
At least 5 years experience in emergency medicine
Clinical rotations in hospitals, including obstetrics, intensive care unit, and emergency room
Completion of initial orientation
100 hours of annual continuing education (didactic and clinical)
