Kentucky tourism has boomed into a major $17.3 million industry, with thousands of new tourists visiting from out of state and overseas every year. Travelers visiting Kentucky from other states and from overseas are sometimes unable to return home via commercial airline and require a medical flight on an air ambulance (Jet ICU) for rehabilitation, treatment, transplant, specialty care, or hospice care after a critical illness or injury.

Kentucky is home to a burgeoning community of senior citizens. The senior population is continually on the rise as the Baby Boomer generation approach and reach their early seventies. Unfortunately, senior patients often require a medical transport (or Jet ICU) to reach the right level of care covered by their insurance nearby family members and loved ones after an injury or accident. Angel MedFlight’s award-winning air ambulance clinicians are experienced in supporting air medical transports and providing care to all critical care patients, including senior patients.

Every team member at Angel MedFlight understands that we meet our patients and their loved ones on the most stressful days of their lives. We know that every moment counts when it comes to reaching the level of care you need when you need it most. That’s why our flight coordinators are here for you anytime – so your patient can reach the next level of care when they need it. Angel MedFlight partners with our preferred part 135 operator, to transport patients on Learjet medically configured to promote hygiene, comfort and of course, safety. A flight captain and an assisting pilot safely transport patients on every healthcare mission, while Angel MedFlight’s certified flight nurse (RN) and flight paramedic (EMP-T) provide complete care and support throughout the medical transport and from bedside-to-bedside.

What makes Angel MedFlight different from other air ambulance service providers?

At Angel MedFlight every team member knows that when it comes to getting your patient to the right level of care, you want them to have the best treatment and transport available. That’s why our air ambulance medical flight team works tirelessly for the industry’s most competitive training and certification standards. One of our certified nurses (RN) and one of our paramedics (EMP-T) ride on board every medical flight to provide the best air medical care possible.

Every one of our air ambulance clinicians receives regular exams and training on air medical procedures and patient care. Most of our medical flight team has over a decade of critical care experience and has earned additional specialty certifications, including CCRN, CEN, CCP-C, CCEMTP. They are also knowledgeable on the air medical industry overall and how to partner with Angel Flight and other healthcare and aviation organizations, so that every patient can reach the right level of care at the right time.

Every Angel MedFlight air ambulance clinician maintains board certification in the flight specialty, (FP-C and CFRN) to provide the highest quality of care to our patients in a controlled environment.

Our air ambulance clinicians frequently transport critical care patients to and from Kentucky for treatment, transplant, specialty care, rehabilitation, or hospice care. If you, a patient, or loved one is having a medical crisis in Kentucky and requires a medical transport (or Jet ICU) to reach a healthcare facility there, our medical flight team members are here to make the healthcare journey as safe and smooth as possible.

On every flight, Angel MedFlight leaves ample room for up to two accompanying loved ones to ride along for emotional support.
