"My 16-year aviation career has been marked by a diversity of leadership roles, which has given me true breadth of knowledge and experience."
Executive Aviation Officer
As Director of Operations, I oversee the execution of company policies and help to establish operations, personnel and equipment standards for our international air medical transport company.
My aviation career began in 1996, when I was selected as Flight Operations Manager to launch Westwind Aviation Academy. During my tenure as Assistant Director of Operations there, I was also exposed to fixed base operations as FBO Assistant Manager. After successfully building Westwind School of Aeronautics, I transitioned into Part 135 Charter operations including Director of Training, Line Captain, Check Airman and Part 135 manual writing. As my aviation career burgeoned, I became General Manager and Chief Pilot for a Learjet charter operation, during which time I developed a private airport in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Next, as Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for another operation, I put together all facets of a Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate, including manuals, standard operating procedures, proving and validation flights, company cadre instructor, Check Airman and regulatory compliance. As my expertise grew, I became Director of Operations for a Part 135 worldwide certificate holder.
I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Manchester (UK) Institute of Science and Technology. Before embarking on my aviation course, I was a lecturer at the University of Salford in England. I have spent much time behind the yolk, and have logged nearly 8,000 flight hours. When I am not in the office or the cockpit, I enjoy spending time with my three dogs.
